Artworks of Merita Rieko (1979 - 2012) in Oman
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Oman and Japan

This exhibition is held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Oman and Japan at Muscat in Oman.
Many rich and beautiful Japanese style painting works including the latest work "Shun Ju Byobu (a Japanese screen)", "The design of Japanese fans on a screen" and desinged with seasonal flowers and Maiko, Japanese dancers, are going to be exhibited.

[Merita Rieko - Artist Extraordinaire]
Morita Rieko is a renowned artist with a distinguished reputation for her superior slills of artistically transcending boundaries in her description of Maiko, a symbol of Kyoto's traditional culture and other objects such as seasonal flowers and exotic women. Her unique artistic skills have earned her fame and recognition. In 1986, Morita Rieko was awarded the grand prize for 'Midday' in the first Kawabata Ryushi Grand Prix Exhibition. In 2006, she created and mounted 'The Splendor ot Auturnn’ on a hanging scroll for the Kyoto State Guest House. And in 2011, she was honoured with the Kyoto Prefecture Award tor Cultural Merit.
